Mio Kato
Mio is the founder of LightStream Research. Previously, Mio was the head of research at Uzabase Inc. prior to which he was a senior analyst at FrontPoint Partners. Mio has a BSc. from London School of Economics.
Scott Foster
Scott is an equity research analyst who worked for investment banks in Japan and Korea for more than 25 years. He was senior technology analyst at Lehman Brothers Japan and head of research at Merrill Lynch Korea. At LightStream Research, he covers Japanese technology from Tokyo. Scott also writes for Asia Times and Strategic News Service (SNS) and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Future in Review (FiRe) technology conference. He is a graduate of Stanford University and the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.

Shifara Samsudeen
Shifara has over 10 years of experience in investment research with exposure to tech, real-estate, telco, chemicals, retail and automobile sectors. Currently at LightStream Research, Shifara covers the global semiconductor sector while providing supervisory assistance to the rest of the team in Sri Lanka. Prior to joining Lightstream Research, Shifara worked as an Assistant Director at Moody’s Analytics Knowledge Services, Sri Lanka. Shifara has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (B. Sc. Accounting (special)) and is an Associate Member of CIMA – UK.
Oshadhi Kumarasiri
Oshadhi has over 7 years of experience in investment research mainly covering consumer staples and discretionary sectors. Currently at LightStream Research Oshadhi acts as senior analyst and covers the Japanese consumer sector. Prior to that Oshadhi had experience of covering banking, insurance and asset management, telco, tech and airlines stocks. Before joining Lightstream Research, Oshadhi worked as an Assistant Director at Moody’s Analytics Knowledge Services, Sri Lanka. Oshadhi has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is an Associate Member of CIMA – UK.
Gervin Gayan
Gayan currently serves as an Equity Research Analyst at LightStream Research mainly focusing on building financial models for the Heavy Machinery and Automotive industries. Gayan previously worked at Uzabase Inc, providing Advanced Client Services and building financial models for the company. Gayan holds a a BSc. Special degree in Finance with Economics as minors from the University of Sri Jayewardenapura, Sri Lanka.
Gihan Bandara
Gihan currently serves as a Equity research Analyst at LightStream Recearch, mainly engaged in providing financial models for consumer staples companies in Japan. Before moving to Lightstream Research, Gihan worked as an Industry Research Analyst for Uzabase Inc, where he engaged in developing financial models for Japanese auto makers, Industry analysis and KPI identification for different finance related industries and Advance Client services. He holds a BSc Special degree in Finance with Economics as minors from University of Sri Jayewardenapura Sri Lanka.
Shalini Kurukulasuriya
Shalini currently serves as a Equity Research Analyst whose primary focus involves building financial models covering the consumer goods sector in Japan. Prior to joining LightStream Research, Shalini was employed in the Finance Department of Hayleys Advantis Limited. Shalini is a member of ACCA-UK and holds a LLB from the University of London.
